State Wide Order Issued by Missouri Governor

Governor ParsonsBuilding on Missouri’s efforts to control, contain, and combat COVID-19, Governor Mike Parson today issued a statewide “Stay Home Missouri” Order effective beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, April 6, 2020, until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2020.

The Order explicitly states that individuals currently residing within the state of Missouri shall avoid leaving their homes or places of residence unless necessary.

“First and foremost, I want everyone to know that I love this state and the people of this state,” Governor Parson said. “The people of this great state clearly define who we are in Missouri, and as Governor, I have no greater responsibility than to protect the health, well-being, and safety of all Missourians.”

The hum of 3D printers and a laser cutter in Southeast’s Seabaugh Polytechnic Building is music to the ears of those on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic here in Cape Girardeau.


Testing & Hotlines for Coronavirus

Now that the Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center has reported the county’s first presumptive positive case of COVID-19 the following resources are more important than ever.

Per the Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center, tests are being processed through private labs and the Missouri State Public Health Lab. There are criteria that have to be met for an individual to be tested for COVID-19.

If you are experiencing fever, cough, or shortness of breath and think you may need to be tested for the Coronavirus, please call your local provider before seeking medical care. **Testing is NOT routinely done at our facility.

The Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center has reported the county’s first presumptive positive case of COVID-19.

Cape Girardeau County Health Center was notified by a commercial laboratory in Cape Girardeau County on Monday, March 23.
