SIU’s Small Business Development Center is hosting “Starting a Business in Illinois” workshop

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- If 2018 could be the year you start or expand a business, you’ll want to participate in an informational workshop at Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Illinois Small Business Development Center. 

The “Starting a Business in Illinois” workshop is Feb. 15 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in Room 150 at the Dunn-Richmond Economic Development Center, 1740 Innovation Drive in Carbondale.

18th ANNUAL CHILDREN’S ARTS FESTIVAL AT THE ARTS COUNCIL

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO—Friday, February 2nd, from 4 to 8 p.m., the Southeast Missouri Arts Council invites you to attend a reception for the 18th Annual Children’s Arts Festival. This much-loved exhibit, which features visual art pieces and poetry by children from 28 regional schools, will be on display until February 24th.

SIU offers free family fun swim program

 CARBONDALE, Ill. – Chase away the winter blahs by enjoying a free swim at Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Student Recreation Center, located at 300 E. Grand Ave.

Recreational Sports and Services is offering a “Family Fun Swim” once a month during the spring semester for anyone who would like to come in and enjoy some water time in Shea Natatorium, an Olympic-size indoor pool.

Southeast Faculty Member Selected to Serve on CSWE Task Force

Dr. L. Alee Moore, director of field education and an instructor in Southeast Missouri State University’s Department of Social Work, has been selected to serve on the Council on Social Work Education’s (CSWE) License and Regulation Task Force.

“It is an honor to be selected to serve with national associations that represent social work education and regulation,” Moore said. “It will be a privilege to work alongside a diverse group of distinguished social work faculty members and practice experts from around the country.”
