The Williamson County Sheriff's Office will be getting a new addition to the force thanks to a $76,000 grant by the Howard G. Buffett Foundation. The money will go toward a new K-9 unit to replace K-9 Lizzy, who retired last year. The grant will also fund training, equipment, and a patrol car. Captain Brian Thomas says he’s excited to be getting the K-9 without cost to taxpayers. The new addition should be arriving in May.
