Bookkeeping and Taxes for Artists

NEWS

How do you include money earned from selling art on your taxes? How do you keep track of the artwork you’ve sold? For independent artists, these questions might leave one guessing, but The Missouri Arts Council is on the case. Next week Sue Greenberg, the Executive Director of the Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts will be hosting a presentation on taxes and bookkeeping for artists. This presentation is to help artists develop sound business practices, and keep track of the paperwork behind the artwork. Take advantage of this free informational, and learn what it takes to be your own boss. Please call 573-334-9233 to register and for any questions about the workshop. The presentation is 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on February 24 at the Arts Council 32 North Main Street Cape Girardeau, MO.
