Cape Plants Urban Orchard

NEWS

Despite the on-and-off rain in the area volunteers with the Parks and Recreation Department in Cape Girardeau managed to find a dry spell to plant brand new trees for an urban garden next to the Shawnee Park Center. While the trees are still young, they will hopefully grow apples, peaches, and pears in three to five years. The Parks and Rec Department says any volunteers who want to help with maintenance during those years are welcome to call and offer their services. While these baby trees still have some growing to do, they are sure to bring a lot of beauty to the area.
