Ste. Genevieve Museum Receives New Exhibit

NEWS

It may appear to be a bunch of rocks, but the Ste. Genevieve Museum’s latest acquisition is a unique collection of stone tools, some coming from as far as the late Prehistoric period. The collection includes 206 projectile points, five miscellaneous bifaces, six preforms, three drills made from reworked points, three spokeshaves made from reworked points, and one hafted end scraper, making a total of 224 pieces. The set came from the Kansas State Museum, who received it from Jacob Vandenberg “J.V.” Brower a professor who assembled the collection throughout the Missouri area between 1897 and 1905. The exhibit can be viewed at the Ste. Genevieve Museum, 10 a.m.  to 4 p.m.
