Prayers for First Responders

NEWS

A prayer service is being held September 26 at 4 p.m. to offer support for local law enforcement. The public is invited to attend and participate in prayer for first responders and other service men and women. Jessica Sammut and Chelsea Houseman are the event organizers. Houseman says that while the event is small it is much needed, “We are holding this event to show support to all of our law enforcement officers. With so many officer shootings and negativity surrounding them, we feel it is important to show them that the community not only appreciates what they do for us but stand behind them as well.” Houseman is hoping that the event will grow and become a tradition in the community, “I am hoping for a good turn out and maybe in the future doing more of a whole officer appreciation day with food, speakers, and such. But as for now it's just a prayer gathering.”

The event takes place in Cape County Park North next to the Law Enforcement Memorial.
