Jaycees Toy Box Accepting Donations

NEWS

The Cape Jaycees have opened their toy box and are now accepting donations through December 18. Donated toys will be personally sent to families in need. Each year the Jaycees fulfill the wish list of needy children in the community, collecting toys and monetary donations.

As a special treat the toys are all delivered personally by Santa Claus, bringing the gifts in a bag to their doorstep. Depending on age and requests each child receives three to five gifts from Santa. The program reaches more than 1,2000 children a year.

Jaycees also host Christmas for the Elderly, a program that provides low-income seniors with necessities like groceries, clothes, and pharmaceutical items. Caretakers with the Division of Health and Senior Services nominate elderly residents in Cape County who need assistance. Donations for this charity are also taken through December 18.

Toys for Jaycees’ Toybox can be donated at participating locations. Click here for a full listing.
