Ad Club Seeks Local Advertising Excellence

PRESS RELEASE

Tri-State Advertising & Marketing Professionals (AMP) has issued its Call for Entries for the 2015-2016 local American Advertising Awards Competition.

Tri-State AMP’s Advertising Awards competition recognizes exceptional advertising created in the Cape Girardeau, Mo.; Paducah, Ky.; and Harrisburg, Ill., markets. The Awards honor advertising excellence in all media including print, broadcast, out-of-home, web/digital and public service advertising.

The competition is open to both members and non-members of Tri-State AMP. All entries must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15 at Cape Girardeau City Hall in the Customer Service office at 401 Independence Street in Cape Girardeau. Entry fees are $49 per entry for members of Tri-State AMP, $75 for non-members and $32 for students. For additional entry details or to submit an entry, visit tristateamp.com/addys. Entries can be accepted as early as Jan. 11.

A distinguished panel of advertising and creative executives will gather in Cape Girardeau the weekend of Jan. 23 to select the winners. To be eligible for consideration of an ADDY, all work must have been published or aired in the tri-state region between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2015.

The Tri-State ADDY Awards consist of a three-level (Gold, Silver and Bronze) competition and is unique to the American Advertising Awards, as is its inclusion of students. District Gold winners then advance to the national competition; winners are announced each June at AAF’s ADMERICA! national conference.

“This is a great opportunity for local advertisers and students to be recognized for their creative work at a local level, with the chance at a regional or national award,” says ADDY Co-Chair Kristen Martin. “We have entries that go on to place at the regional level nearly every year.”

Martin’s Co-Chair Tonya Wells says this year the Tri-State ADDY Awards also offers small businesses and organizations Local Only categories. However, these submissions do not advance to the district level.

“Cape Girardeau is fortunate to have some amazing agencies doing outstanding work,” Wells says. “But we also have a great many small businesses and organizations that may have only a one-person shop to create all the marketing and advertising, and most often, they do this work on a much smaller budget. We wanted to showcase some of that work and those great ideas that are completed with fewer resources.”

Tri-State AMP will honor the winners during an awards show on Feb. 19 at Isle Casino in Cape Girardeau. Tickets are available to the community as well as entrants.
