'Caped!' One-Day Exhibition at Cape Comic Con

Saturday, April 16 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri will display a special, one-day only original character exhibition entitled CAPED! in partnership with Cape Comic Con. The art show will be displayed in the “Rogues Gallery” during the Cape Comic Con at the Osage Centre in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

 

For the second year, the Arts Council and Cape Comic Con have partnered to share an opportunity for artists to exhibit their original characters: whether they are superheroes, super villains, or if they only dream of being one! The exhibit is open to all ages and includes a Youth Division for ages 12 and under, a Young Adult Division for ages 13 – 18, and an Adult Division for ages 18 and up. In 2015, there were over 170 pieces of original artwork on display by young artists and professionals.

Awards for CAPED! will be will be selected by featured guest artist Lorenzo Lizana, the Art Director at Lion Forge Comics. Awards will be announced between 3 p.m. and  4 p.m. along with the awards for the Costume Contest on Saturday, April 16.
