Procter & Gamble to Host 5K Fundraiser for United Way

PRESS RELEASE

Runners, walkers, and philanthropists can enjoy a unique run/walk during Procter & Gamble’s “Who Do You Run For?” 5K set for Saturday, June 11, at Trail of Tears State Park.

“Who Do You Run For?” is unique in that the participants of this race have the option to choose from more than a dozen United Way funded partners to support with their entry fee (i.e. ‘I Run for Habitat for Humanity’). The following United Way partner agencies have chosen to participate and can be designated as recipients: Lutheran Family & Children’s Services, Habitat for Humanity, Boys & Girls Club of Cape Girardeau, Voices for Children/CASA, Safe House for Women, American Red Cross, Cape County 4-H Council, Big Brothers Big Sisters, SEMO University Student Emergency Fund, Jackson Senior Center, and The Salvation Army. Participants are also welcome to designate their fee to United Way of Southeast Missouri.

“We are so fortunate to have a great relationship with Procter & Gamble! This event is one more way that their team goes above and beyond to meet the need and make a real difference. We hope the community joins in on their efforts,” said Nicholle Hinkle, United Way Director of Donor Relations.

The tax-deductible registration fee is $20 per person prior to May 30 and includes a race T-shirt. After May 30 the fee will increase to $25. Registration will open at 7:30 a.m. when race packets can be picked up with the race scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.. Interested participants can obtain more information and register online at www.unitedwayofsemo.org/run.

Race sponsors currently include Mondi Jackson and SNAP Fitness Cape Girardeau. If your business is interested in offering a sponsorship through a financial gift, needed service or prize donation, contact Nicholle Hinkle for more information at 573-334-9634 or This email address is being protected from spambots.
