Announcement by Ste. Genevieve regarding the 2020 Jour de Fete.
STE. GENEVIEVE -- This year's Jour de Fete celebration in Ste. Genevieve has been cancelled.
The Jour de Fete board issued a brief statement on social media yesterday:
It said: "After much consideration, the JDF Board of Directors announce that the 2020 JDF has been cancelled due to COVID-19.
"The board encourages you to still support the businesses in Ste. Genevieve that weekend.
"We will be sending out an email to our craft vendors.

"Looking forward to seeing you next year at the 2021 JDF August 14 & 15."
The only previous cancellation of the Jour de Fete occurred in 1993 during the Great Mississippi River Flood.
