Ad Organization Presents Silver Medal Award 

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Tri-State Advertising & Marketing Professionals (AMP) presented the Silver Medal Award to Johnathan Wright on February 21 at the organization’s American Advertising Awards banquet. The award honors an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the advertising and marketing professions, as well as his or her local community. 

Wright has an impressive record of advertising, marketing, and creative management experience. As the President and Founder of The Wright Group, he has bragging rights including several PIA Benny awards, 11 local best of show awards, and several regional ADDY’s throughout his career. Wright has proven to be invaluable in solving client’s communication needs and has built a solid reputation for providing strategic solutions and personalized service in the area and throughout the Midwest. He attended the Art Institute of Chicago, and Southeast Missouri State University where he studied Marketing, Mass Communications and Fine Arts. Wright currently resides in Perryville, MO with his wife, Lora.  

The AAF's Silver Medal Award Program was established in 1959 to recognize men and women who have made outstanding contributions to advertising and who have been active in furthering the industry's standards, creative excellence and responsibility in areas of social concern. This year’s award recipient was selected by a committee comprised of three past Silver Medal Award recipients and several Tri State AMP members. 

Past Silver Medal recipients include Paul Walker of the Southeast Missourian, “Cousin Carl” Anderson of KWKZ, Mike Tenholder of The ImageMaker, Gary Rust of Rust Communications, Charles and Judy Wiles of Southeast Missouri State University, Wes Wade of Wise Dog Marketing, Jim Riley of Red Letter Communications, and Brian Young of River Radio.

Tri-State Advertising & Marketing Professionals is a non-profit organization made up of communications professionals in the Cape Girardeau, Mo.; Paducah, Ky.; and Harrisburg, Ill., areas. The organization seeks to provide and promote a better understanding of the functions and value of advertising; apply the skills, creativity and energy of the advertising industry in solving social problems; advance the standards of advertising through voluntary self-regulation; and promote good fellowship and free exchange of ideas. Tri-State AMP is affiliated with the American Advertising Federation and the Ninth District, AAF.
