PRESS RELEASE
Committee of business leaders plan women’s show in Sikeston
February 20, 2014 (Sikeston, MO) The Sikeston area is playing host to the B97.9 Women’s Show coming up Saturday, March 29th from 9am-6pm at the Miner Convention Center. “It’s a new concept to Sikeston, a vendor show that is all about women”, says Kyla Evans, coordinator of the event and marketing manager of Sikeston Outlet Stores. “Women hold a lot of buying power in everything from household goods to health and beauty products so this show should not disappoint the woman consumer!”
Over 65 vendors are scheduled to set up booths and showcase products in a variety of areas related to women including: health and beauty, fitness, fashion, massage, travel, photography and higher education. A craft show is also incorporated into the event with local talent showing off their skills in jewelry making, home décor, painting and much more!
“When I starting putting this show together I wanted to come up with something fun for woman to do in the bootheel area, a sort of women’s day out. At this show, you will be able to do everything from getting your blood pressure checked, to learn about the latest in beauty and fashion trends, to buying something home-made for yourself!”
Behind Evans is a group of business-minded women from Mississippi, New Madrid, Scott and Cape counties that have built this show into what looks to be a very exciting event. Lunch will be catered by Susie’s Bake Shop of Sikeston and the entertainment lineup promises not to disappoint as well. The SEMO Redhawk Cheerleaders are scheduled to perform at 11:30am and the Sikeston Outlet Stores will showcase the latest in apparel at their Spring Fashion Show at 12:30pm. Other performers include the Sikeston Stars, a mini-competitive cheer team, and a self-defense and Korean martial arts demonstration as well. Proceeds from the event will benefit the SEMO Food Bank, and admission to the event is only $1 per person or 1 can of food.
