Spring Long Marathon for Kids at Farmington Civic Center

The Farmington Recreation Department is excited to offer kids the chance to run a marathon. Kids ages 4-14 will record their training distances on the training logs. On May 31 at 9:00 a.m. participants will complete the 26.2 mile marathon distance at the Farmington Civic Center. Kids ages 4-5 will need to log 25.95 training miles and will complete the remaining 0.25 mile on May 31. Kids ages 6-7 will need to log 25.7 training miles and will complete the remaining 0.5 mile on May 31. Kids ages 8-10 will need to log 25.2 miles and will complete the remaining 1 mile on May 31. Kids ages 11-14 will need to log 24.2 miles and will complete the remaining 2 miles on May 31. Log sheets need to be turned in to the Farmington Civic Center no later than May 28, 2014.

Parents: You can have fun and support your kids by running along, logging, and initialing their training log chart. Log charts can be picked up beginning March 1 at the front desk of the Farmington Civic Center, 2 Black Knight Drive. Everyone who competes will receive a finisher’s medal and a T-shirt. The event will be set up like a real marathon with a large finish line, flags, and race bibs for the kids to wear when they run. The fee to participate is $10.00.
