Click: River Region Photography Association Exhibit

PRESS RELEASE

Friday, July 11, from 5 to 9 p.m., the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri will host a First Friday reception for an exhibit entitled CLICK, featuring works by members of the River Region Photography Association.

The River Region Photography Association is a photography group that meets on a monthly basis. The group consists of around 60 members from the Southeast Missouri area, with photographic interests ranging from amateur to professional.

CLICK will present photographic images from around 30 of the group’s members. These members have been invited to choose their favorite piece for display at the Arts Council. Each photograph in the exhibit will include information about where the image was captured, and how the artist captured it. Dan Buckenmeyer, president of the River Region Photography Association, believes this will be a great opportunity for those learning about the art of photography.

Members of the River Region Photography Association will also be present on Saturday, July 19th from 11 am – 1 pm for a workshop titled Photography 101. During the workshop, guests are invited to bring their personal cameras for a hands-on tutorial on how to capture the best photographic image. Affiliates of the RRPA will also be available to help visitors with uploading pictures onto their computers from their cameras, and to acquaint them with software used to enhance photographs.

The Visual Arts Cooperative will also debut new works in their gallery space at the Arts Council.

Join other arts patrons and supporters in welcoming the River Region Photography Association, Friday, July 11th. The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri is located at 32 North Main Street in Cape Girardeau, MO. Galleries are open Tuesday- Saturday, from 10am to 4pm.

**PLEASE NOTE: FIRST FRIDAY IN JULY WILL TAKE PLACE ON JULY 11th**
