Old Town Cape invites you to be a part of the Charles L. Hutson Auction

PRESS RELEASE

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO. – Make plans to be a part of the excitement at the 27th Annual Charles L. Hutson Auction on Saturday, September 6, at 6:30pm. The event will be held at the Isle Casino Cape Girardeau Event Center, 777 N. Main. This auction is the largest annual fundraiser for Old Town Cape. All proceeds benefit the organization and help further their efforts in downtown revitalization.

Both a silent and live auction are planned with unique and specialty items and experiences donated from local businesses including fine jewelry, antiques, artwork and more. New this year is an online auction. Several of the auction items will be posted online at www.32auctions.com/27thCharlesLHutsonAuction for early bidding and item previews. Upon closure of the online event, Friday, September 5 at 12pm, the ending price for each item will be its starting price at the live event.
‘The auction is a unique event in that it’s a fantastic, fun-filled evening with all proceeds staying right here in our community. Everything raised goes toward promoting our downtown as a destination to live, shop, play and do business. Without this event, many of the beautification projects and special events brought to our district would not be possible’ commented Marla Mills, Executive Director of Old Town Cape. ‘Our downtown truly is a special place, and it is an honor to be able to continue our efforts in sustaining and growing its excitement and potential.’

Event volunteer and supporter of Old Town Cape, Tina McRaven is excited about this year’s auction. ‘The support of community businesses and indivuduals in making sure our downtown is thriving is first-rate. Every year it seems auction items and the event as a whole gets better and better. If you haven’t had the opportunity to attend, I encourage you to do so.’

Reservations are $40 each and include heavy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Limited tables of 8 are also available for $300. Reservations can be secured by calling Old Town Cape at 573-334-8085. The Charles L. Hutson Auction is sponsored by Isle Casino Cape Girardeau, SoutheastHEALTH, Big River Telephone, Bank of Missouri and Athena Property Group.
