CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Aug. 29, 2014 – Water samples taken from the repaired city water main came back safe today, allowing the City of Cape Girardeau to restore full water supply to the Southeast Missouri State University campus Friday afternoon, Aug. 29. Residence hall students are encouraged to return to campus on Monday, Sept. 1. Classes will resume and offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2.
The water main was repaired by 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, but the line could not be activated until city officials completed testing and obtained safety approval.

PRIOR POST:
City crews have completed repairs on a city water main break that occurred early Wednesday on the Southeast Missouri State University campus. However, the line cannot be activated until city officials complete testing and obtain approval from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, which is not expected until late Friday or early Saturday.
Water flow and pressure will remain at their current levels until the City of Cape Girardeau receives approval from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to reopen the repaired water main. The water remains safe to drink on campus as it has been since the break was discovered.
While the campus remains closed, with classes to resume and offices set to reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, several adjustments in schedules have been made.
The payment deadline for new or added enrollment after July 28 that was originally due on Friday, Aug. 29, has been extended to Wednesday, Sept. 3.
Distribution of iPads to College of Education students in Memorial Hall, Room 107 will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 2, and continue through Thursday, Sept. 4. Hours of distribution at this location are 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and are open to all remaining College of Education students, regardless of grade level.
ITV classes originating at the main campus are cancelled. ITV classes originating from regional campuses will go on as planned, but will be recorded for later access by main campus students.
Testing Services in Kent Library will remain open Thursday, Aug. 28, and Friday, Aug. 29, for scheduled tests and appointments.

Southeast Bookstore is operating on its normal schedule, but Textbook Rental is closed.
The Campus Health Clinic is closed except for previously scheduled appointments.
