March of Dimes Signature Chef's Auction

PRESS RELEASE

The 2014 Signature Chefs Auction presented by SoutheastHealth will be held Thursday, Nov. 6 at The Plaza Conference Center in Cape Girardeau. Doors open at 6:15pm and tickets are available for $50 per ticket or $400 for a table.  This year’s event will feature culinary creations by master chefs from across the area as well as silent and live auctions with all proceeds from the event benefiting the March of Dimes.

“We are pleased to invite community members to be a part of this event. The Signature Chefs Auction is a wonderful opportunity to support the March of Dimes while enjoying delicious food in a festive atmosphere,” says Beth Simmons, Division Director of the March of Dimes Greater Missouri Chapter, Southeast Division.

Attendees will be able to sample several courses prepared by various teams of chefs using specific ingredients selected by the auction committee. Voting will take place throughout the night with the winning team being named the “Top Chefs” of the night.

In addition to fine cuisine, live and silent auctions will also take place featuring a variety of items donated by regional retailers. A sample of items available for bidding this year include: a two-night stay at Big Cedar Lodge in Branson, Mo., Missouri Tigers men's basketball tickets, 2015 St. Louis Cardinals baseball tickets with hotel stays and many other items.

All raised proceeds from the event will directly benefit the March of Dimes foundation as well as the health of babies and mothers throughout Missouri.

“Thanks to the generous support of events like the Signature Chefs Auction, the March of Dimes is able to provide lifesaving research and support to families of premature babies, ” says Simmons.

 About the Signature Chef’s Auction.

The Signature Chefs Auction is a fundraiser for the March of Dimes held in almost 200 cities across the country. Last year, these events raised over $25 million to make sure that all babies are born healthy. This unique and fun dining experience – where top local chefs present their signature dishes in a tasting format - has raised more than $150 million for the March of Dimes since the first Signature Chef’s Auction was held in 1989 in Florida. The event has been held locally since 2009.
