For those that need a little help this holiday season The Salvation Army is always a go-to place, and this year they will be hosting their annual Thanksgiving Dinner. Last year they served about 2000 people, dishing out traditional Thanksgiving food donated by generous community members. The Salvation Army is highly volunteer-based, and they are always needing help themselves. Food donations and volunteer work is always accepted. Coats from the ‘Coats for Kids’ Drive will also be handed out to those who need extra layers. Anyone is welcome to the Thanksgiving Dinner, and the volunteers want everyone to enjoy an environment of family, friends, and good food.
Lunch is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at 701 Good Hope Street. Meals can also be delivered, call (573) 335-7000.
