Hayven Pasoni is only eight years old, but she's making big waves in the cooking world. This will be the second year young Pasoni has made it to the finals of Ben's Beginner Cooking Contest, a nation-wide cook-off sponsored by Uncle Ben's. Pasoni is one of the top 25 finalists, with a special stuffed-mushroom recipe.
Winners are chosen by public vote, and the top five win a cash prize, as well as a make-over for their school cafeteria. This would be especially rewarding for Hayven, who goes to Washington Elementary School. Her family has a long history with the school, for it's where her great-grandmother worked in the cafeteria, and met her great-grandfather, who was a janitor.
Hayven's mother, Stacy, says that her daughter loves cooking, and gets very creative in the kitchen. This year Hayven made Mama Mia Stuffed Mushrooms for the contest.
