The Bar Opens for Business

NEWS

The Bar on Themis Street has become a famous local icon, being one of the main settings for the film Gone Girl. Now that filming is over The Bar is open to the public; they had an official ribbon-cutting last Friday. Old Town Cape Dining LLC purchased the property after filming, keeping its movie-given name. While The Bar no longer has official affiliation with Gone Girl or 20th Century Fox Film Corp. it has become a landmark of local pride, and the new owners have big plans. They want The Bar to become a fine-dining restaurant, and hope to add upstairs seating, as well as a catering service. For now The Bar is a little space where people can gather for food, drink, and reminisce on their experience with the movie. Some of the set dressings and The Bar logo were kept as keepsakes from the film. A New Year’s Eve Bash is planned for Wednesday.
