Old Town Cape to Honor Volunteers and Achievements at Annual Dinner

Old Town Cape is excited to announce the date for their Annual Dinner - Thursday, February 19. Sponsored by First State Community Bank and Isle Casino Cape Girardeau, this event allows the organization to recognize key accomplishments from 2014 and to honor the exceptional efforts of downtown businesses and volunteers.

Social hour kicks off the evening at 6pm in Isle Casino Cape Girardeau’s Event Center, located at 777 N Main, with dinner and the program follow at 7pm. A cash bar will be available throughout the evening.

The following awards will be presented: Charles L Hutson Visionary Award, Volunteer of the Year Award, Business in Excellence Award and recognition for an outsianding ‘Adaptive Use’ of a building in Downtown Cape Girardeau. The outgoing 2014 members of the Board of Directors, the new 2015 Board of Directors, the 2014 Board of Directors President and the new 2015 Board of Directors President will also be recognized.

This event isn’t solely gearded toward those currently involved in Old Town Cape and Downtown Cape Girardeau. To learn more about the organization, downtown happenings and the exciting accomplishments of the past year, be sure to attend.

‘Our Annual Dinner gives us a chance to show the community, and those involed in our efforts, just how much Downtown Cape Girardeau is developing and adding to our community and the local economy,’ mentioned Marla Mills, Executive Director at Old Town Cape. ‘The number of new businesses and jobs added from downtown in the past year alone, along with the revitalization of the area are achievements worth celebrating. But that wouldn’t be possible without the efforts of our volunteers and community support.
