Fee-Free Days at Shawnee National Forest

The U.S. Forest Service has started a program that will allow visitors free entrance into state parks on certain days. Shawnee National Forest in Missouri has announced its participation in this program. Most national forests and grasslands require visitor fees to keep the parks clean and safe. Now park-goers can enter the following locations for free: Garden of the Gods, Pounds Hollow, Camp Cadiz, Pine Hills, and Johnson Creek. These can all be accessed for free on the following dates: January 19, February 16, June 13, September 26, and November 11.
