New Art Gallery Coming to Carbondale

The Carbondale Community Arts organization has taken on renovations in Carbondale’s former public library, turning the old building into an art gallery. Officials say that this more central location will be an improvement to their former home Downtown. They hope the new location will be more visual to the public, and open to traffic. The public has expressed strong support for the art building, providing donations to complete renovations. The new space, under the working title Art Place 304, will be a host for local and visiting artists, as well as performance art such as poetry readings and lectures. They will also have workshops and classes. Officials hope to have the building open sometime this spring.
