Farmington Rescue Friends Save Animals

NEWS

Becky Leija is up to her eyeballs in puppies, and loving every moment. An animal rescuer, Leija’s job is to help animals that have no place to go.This year has been particularly busy, and that’s saying something, considering her first year working at the pound yielded the rescue of 899 dogs, that’s a lot of work, but it’s also a lot of wagging tails and slobbery kisses. Leija’s most important message to dog owners is to have your animals spayed, neutered, and have them microchipped so that they don’t get lost. Busy as she may be Leija calls animal rescue her passion. Her work helps keep pounds in the area kill-free, and she works hard to find homes and shelters for animals to go, even as far as St. Louis. “I’ve been rescuing animals all my life,” she said. “There was never a stray dog or cat that I didn’t pick up even as a child.”

The Farmington Rescue Friends are always in need of assistance, see what it’s all about on their Facebook page.
