Space Museum Under Way in Bonne Terre

NEWS

With a little money, charitable volunteers, and donations from NASA, Earl Mullins is bringing people a step closer to the last frontier, by building a Space Museum. Using the old courthouse in Bonne Terre Missouri, Mullins has been working almost every weekend, relying on dedicated volunteers to bring the old building up to par. “The annex will allow us to have more space to where we can have special programs for the kids after school. We will have maybe a one or two hour-program for them every other month or once a quarter or something like that.” Mullins wants the museum to be very interactive, and he has a collection of items to use in the exhibit, including a donation from NASA that will be sure to get kids excited about outer space. “We are not earning a thing. All of us are volunteers and we are doing this for the community, for our kids, and for the whole area. We feel something like this is needed in our area and so any help we can get would be appreciated.”

If anyone can make a donation, or has the skills and time to help, the Space Museum is in need of drywall, electricians, flooring, air conditioning, and other carpentry needs.
