History Center Now Open

The Cape Girardeau County History Center is now open in Jackson, and their first exhibit will bring many down a nostalgic path with pieces like the Brown Family Quilt, which is a blanket of pictures featuring the Brown family tree. Keeping with the theme of quilts, the exhibit also includes the quilt collection of award-winning quilter Lynn Taylor. This exhibit will remain until June 1 when a new one will take it’s place. Rotations will take place every 60 to 90 days. Throughout the summer the history center will be offering workshops, storytelling, weekly coffee, and other special events. There’s also a special children’s area where kids can color, play, and touch anything they want. Check it out at 102 S. High St. in Jackson. The history center is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and admission is free.
