Join the Great Cape Clean-Up

NEWS

The Great Cape Clean-Up is April 25, and everyone is invited. This is a chance to join the community and clean up Cape Girardeau’s public parks. The Parks and Recreation Department is encouraging anyone to help out in anyway they can, from beautification projects, to freshening up your own front yard. This is a day to get outside, get some fresh air, and help out the local parks. If you like to be in the middle of the action meet up with the other volunteers at Capaha Park at 8:30 a.m. where you will register and be assigned a project such as flower planting, trash pick-up, or leaf raking at one of the several parks, golf courses, or river fronts throughout the city. Schnucks will be there as well to feed all the hard workers with hot dogs, chips, and soda. If you prefer to stay close to home you can help out a local school, business, or simply do a project in your own neighborhood by cleaning up the street or planting fresh flowers. If you’re ready to enjoy some beautiful spring weather, and help out your community while you’re at it call the Parks and Recreation Department Office at 573-339-6340 to register. Meet at Capaha Park between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on April 25.
