Great Scott! Courthouse Looks to Save Clock

1.21 gigawatts didn’t take down this clock tower, but time has stood still at the St. Francois County Courthouse where their large clock has been motionless since 1972. Now, plans are underway to bring the clock, which was installed in 1927, back to life. The last repair took place in 2003, but lack of maintenance caused it to fail a second time. The county commission is looking to do it right this time, with guarantees that the clock will continue to work for years to come. They are now taking bids for the clock repair, and looking into funding. Officials hope to soon have the clock in working order, and enjoy the hourly chimes that once filled the town.
