New St. Francis Building Opens in July

After a long time of construction the new patient tower addition to St. Francis Medical Center will finally open at the beginning of July. This five-story tower has dedicated areas for orthopedics, neurosciences, and medical patients, as well as a Women and Children’s Pavilion which will house the Family BirthPlace and the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Patients will have private rooms to allow more space for visitors and a better healing environment according to Marilyn K. Curtis, MSA, vice president-professional services at Saint Francis. She says the "project has been designed with the patient in mind. We believe our growing patient population will benefit greatly from our careful attention to detail.”
