Red House Interpretive Center Expands

The Red House Interpretive Center in Downtown Cape is a unique source of history for the riverside community. Red House opened in 2003 and serves as a museum chronicling the history of Cape Girardeau. Some items on display include antique weapons and documents, and now Red House is adding more displays to their exhibit. They will be expanding their speaker series, and installing a stockade, an ox cart, blacksmith's shop, beehive oven for breadmaking, and will also be getting a log so that visitors can watch as they create an actual dugout canoe. Watch for these changes over the coming weeks. Red House relies on volunteers and donations, so consider helping out as well.
