Acting Out! Goes Into The Woods

Acting Out! Performed their third play of the season last weekend. A variety of actors and actresses took the stage for Into the Woods, showing off an array of musical, acting, and comedy talent.

Jenny Duncan, who played Little Red Riding Hood, and is one of the younger performers at age 13, was also in Acting Out’s rendition of Little Women, and hopes to make the theater her career, “I love musicals, it’s what I want to do when I’m older.” She and the other performers are well on their way, delivering plenty of humor, musical talent, and cleverness to the stage.

When asked about their favorite part of the play the unanimous answer was the costumes. Designed by Amanda Rhodes, the costume design had a classic-meets-industrial style with Steampunk proportions. “The costumes get increasingly amazing as the show goes,” said Andrea Mossman, who played Cinderella.

Acting Out! brought together a huge and diversified cast, some traveling as far as St. Louis and Marble Hill, and others as young as age 7, “It doesn’t feel like an age gap. We’re all vastly different ages but we still worked well together,” said Cameron Tyler who played the Steward.

Acting Out’s next show will be Night of the Living Dead, an interactive zombie performance October 16 and 17. Go to their website or Facebook page for upcoming information.
