Photographers Take Over Downtown Cape

NEWS

World Wide Photowalk is coming to Cape Girardeau. Fifty photographers of all ages and skill levels will gather in the downtown area to capture the historic essence of the city in photographs. The Photowalk is hosted all over the world, but this will be its first year in Cape Girardeau. President of the River Region Photography Association, Dan Buckenmyer, is hosting this event, “Being a part of the Photo Walk is important for Cape Girardeau and the photographers, as it is a worldwide event, put on by the biggest name in the photographic software education market, Scott Kelby and his organization, KelbyOne, formerly National Association of Photoshop Professionals. The walkers will pick their favorite photo from the walk, submit it to me, I will pick the winning photo and submit it to the contest managers for a chance to win prizes and fame. The city of Cape will get exposure and be noticed worldwide.”

The photowalk also acts as a fundraiser for the Springs of Hope Orphanage in Kenya. Walkers are asked to donate at least $1 for the orphanage, and can purchase t-shirts online.
