Open House Held for Historic Building

The historic “Spradling House” at 1304 Broadway has had many uses through it’s lifetime. From a lawyer’s office in the 1930’s, to its final run as Global Foods, the building fell into disarray, but has been rehabilitated by R. Hetzel Properties, LLC, and the City of Cape Girardeau Historic Preservation Commission. To celebrate the completion of renovation the company is holding an open house and will present the home for commercial use.

Rick Hetzel, owner of R. Hetzel Properties says that, “We were successful in safeguarding many of the ‘arts and crafts’ design features of the building, which included the massive oak ceiling beams and interior moldings, the ornate glazed brick fireplace and bookcases, and the oak hardwood floors.”

The public is invited to tour the home and see the renovations during the open house on March 1 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
