Labor Day Fun

NEWS

Labor Day weekend is a traditionally transitional period with the first Monday in September being the last day of swimming pools, and wearing white. Fall Festivals are already being set up for September, and Labor Day is the last chance for real summer fun.

Cape Splash will be closing its doors for the season after September 5 (with the exception of the doggie swim day on September 25). Patrons are invited for one more lap on the lazy river.

Fort D in Cape Girardeau is getting ready for autumn with their Labor Day Fall Muster. Patrons can see the historic site for free while costumed reenactors prepare the Fort and provide demonstrations.

September 5 is also the last day of the Du Quoin State Fair. Carnival-goers can use their day off for a fun day at the fair.

Oak Ridge Baptist Church is having a Labor Day Festival and car show. There will be games and activities for kids, as well as refreshments.
