Southeast to Add More Health Courses

NEWS

While it has not yet been approved, the Southeast Missouri State University's Academic Visionary Committee has plans in the works to add more courses and services for health-based degrees.

One of the services they want is a clinic at the River Campus Center, which would be on-hand to provide immediate treatment to students who might obtain injury during art or dance work. Heather McMillan, faculty associate, Office of the Provost said that, “It gives different experience options for students on the athletic training side, so if they wanted to go work for performance arts companies, or traveling theater groups ... it's just a whole different area for them to go practice in.”

The committee also wants to add an interdisciplinary program, and expand on existing courses to bring departments together, and give students a chance to expand their opportunities and experiences.
