A Celebration of Hanukkah in Marion

Hanukkah began December 16, and will continue for a traditional 8 nights to December 23. To celebrate this important holiday the Congregation Adat Ariel of Marion is hosting a candle-lighting service in the Marion town square. There a giant Menorah will be lit one bulb at a time for each night. The Congregation Adat Ariel invites anyone and everyone to join them each night for the lighting. They add that all religions are welcome. A prayer is offered, as well as the story of Hanukkah. The tradition of holding Menorah’s in public places has increased in the last 30 years, raising awareness for the holiday. In the Marian town square the Menorah is accompanied by lights, and a nativity scene on the other side, making it an all-inclusive location for holiday traditions of all cultures. The lighting ceremony is each night December 16-23 at 6:00 p.m.
