Southeast Rebranding Includes a New Logo

Southeast Missouri State University may start to look a little different in the next couple of years. They’ve already constructed new buildings, and are refurbishing old ones, but now they are also planning a rebranding for the university, which will include a new logo.

Southeast has hired Ologie out of Columbus, Ohio to help recreate the school’s image. Ologie is a branding firm that helps with strategy and creative development. So far Ologie has been hosting strategy meetings, and focus groups to look into Southeast’s unique identity, and create a brand that will best market these attributes.

Kenneth Dobbins, retiring president, says, “We need to be able to communicate the Southeast story more clearly and consistently to ensure we attract the students best suited for the Southeast experience. Ologie’s efforts have been very insightful thus far.”

New concepts for the Southeast logo, which has not changed since the 1980s, include a more simple and modern copper dome, with a stylish font. The project is expected to be completed in February 2015.
