It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…and time for the 21st Annual Parade of Lights! I have many memories with my children attending this kickoff to the Christmas season in Cape. With blankets and a thermos of hot chocolate, we would find our place along Broadway to watch the beautiful display of holiday lights and hear the Christmas music play.
Each year, there is a theme to follow for float participants. What fun it will be to see the 2012 theme “All I Want for Christmas” parading through Cape. With as many as 100 floats from local businesses and organizations, I can't imagine a better way to get in the Christmas spirit.
This year, the parade will be Sunday, November 25th beginning at approximately 5:00 p.m. (when it is dark enough to enjoy the Christmas lights and music!) The parade route starts at Capaha Park and travels east down Broadway, turning on Main Street and ending on Merriwether in historic downtown Cape Girardeau. So, grab your hot chocolate and blankets and make some memories of your own by attending this annual kick off for Christmas.
