Labor Day weekend is here! The beloved four day weekend and the dreaded end of summer mark. Some spend this weekend at the lake, camping or maybe just relaxing at home. If you are looking for something to do this weekend I’ve compiled a list of a few things to do.

 Labor Day Celebrations:

Advance Labor Day Picnic is the Labor Day Celebration to be at! Join us for food, beer garden, vendors, inflatable bouncers, music, Pageants, Parades, Petting Zoo, Demo Derby, Tractor Pull and more. There's something for everyone at the Advance Labor Day Picnic!

September 3rd 230pm - 10pm

September 4th 10am - 10pm

Benton Neighbor Days Festival:

This annual events hosts a parade, pageants, tournaments, live music, great food, mud races and greased pole climb (talk about fun to watch).

Friday, Sep 1, 2017, 5:00 pm - 11:30 pm
Saturday, Sep 2, 2017, 10:30 am - 11:30 pm

Location: Benton City Park in Benton MO

Fort D Fall Munster

Fall Muster will be at Fort D Historic Site, 920 Fort Street, Cape Girardeau, MO on Labor Day, Monday, September 4th, 9am-3pm.

Labor Day is typically a day of rest, but the soldiers and civilians at Fort D will be busy preparing for fall. Join local reenactors as they demonstrate rifle and cannon fire. New recruits interested in reenacting and general public welcome! Admission is free. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy period music at 10 am! (Weather permitting.)

Labor Day Fest @ Horseshoe Lake

This is a free event! Pancake breakfast begins at 7 am and BBQ and other food is served from 10 am till 4 pm. There will be music all day as well as vendors, games, crafts & a bake sale. Rain or shine. Proceeds benefit the Community Center maintenance fund.

Walkers Bluff Labor Day Celebration:

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 3RD  

The Gates will open at 1PM – $10 Per Car to Enter.
LIVE MUSIC will be performed at THE GAZEBO!
Bosco & Whiteford 3-6 PM
Cat Daddy’O 7-10 PM
FOOD will be served! Burgers, Sandwiches, House Smoked Turkey Legs, Fries, & More..
BEER & WINE will also be available for purchase!
FIREWORKS start at 9pm...Kids of all ages welcome

Last Chance to Swim!:

Cape Splash will be closing after this weekend so take the kiddos or your friends and send off the summer with a fun swim sesh!

The hours are:

Saturday 11 am - 6 pm
Sunday   12 pm - 6 pm
Last day for the season is Labor Day Monday September 4th -  12 pm - 6 pm

 

If you are regretting not taking that summer beach vacation I suggest you take a trip to Fugitive Beach. It is located right outside Rolla Missouri. It has gorgeous blue water, soft warm sand, water slides & a cliff to jump off.
