Southeast River Campus Showcasing the World’s Most Famous Vampire, ‘Dracula’

Based on Bram Stoker’s classic novel, “Dracula” will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 31- Nov. 4 and 2 p.m. Nov. 5 as part of the Rhodes 101 Stops and Commerce Bank Theatre and Dance Series in the Donald C. Bedell Performance Hall at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus.

“Dracula” is a suspenseful story following the material of its novel. The characters in the play work to piece together the vampire Dracula’s identity and bravely attempt to stop him from taking new victims.

Full of humor and horror, “Dracula” paints a theatrical picture of Stoker’s famous vampire, said Dr. Kenneth Stilson, chair of The Conservatory of Theatre and Dance.

“Spend Halloween night with a terrifying production of Dracula,” he said. “It’s the perfect season for those with a taste for a little blood.”

This new adaptation restores the suspense and seduction of Bram Stoker’s classic novel to the stage. As Count Dracula begins to exert his will upon the residents of London, they try to piece together the clues of his appearances—in a valiant attempt to save themselves from a hideous fate.
