CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO-- Friday, November 2, from 5 to 9 p.m., the Southeast Missouri Arts Council will host an opening reception for photographer Kyle DeWitt’s Out West exhibition. The show will be on display until December 1 and will feature DeWitt’s photographs of his travels in Western United States.
Missouri born, Arizona educated, California crafted, Kyle DeWitt went from Dexter to the desert and landed in the city of angels. As a creative professional since 2004,
he’s focused on crafting stories by combining digital images, interactive content and
bold photography. By delivering award winning work, Kyle amassed a book of global
brands that have remained his clients for years.
As a landscape photographer, Kyle’s style is focused on rugged simplicity. Clean lines
and strong color palettes that illustrate the scale and drama of the scene. In this
latest exhibit, Out West, we see a selection of unique scenes that demand a closer
look. From New Mexico monsoons to Sedona sculptures, DeWitt shows us a twist on
the typical Western landscape.
Additionally, First Friday with the Arts will be happening the same night. Gallery Manager, Angela Sander, is excited about the offerings and happenings at local participating businesses. “There will be multiple opening receptions around town, including a Pop-Up Art Show at Eden Health Spa & Salon, and live music at historic Marquette Hotel. It will be a fun-filled night.” For more information, visit the Arts Council’s First Friday with the Arts Facebook page.
The Visual Arts Cooperative will also debut new works in their gallery space at the Arts Council. Window exhibitors for November include Bob Towner and Rob Hale.
The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri is located at 16 North Spanish Street in Cape Girardeau, MO. Galleries are open Tuesday- Saturday, from 10am to 6pm.
