Tapping out the tunes of the season is nothing new for the Southeast Missouri State University's percussion ensemble. To the beat of their own drum, they will once again perform their Family Holiday Concert on December 14 at 10:30 a.m. at the River Campus Donald C Bedell Performance Hall.
Geared toward families with young children, the show will feature live, festive holiday tunes as well as slide shows from classic children's books including Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and Polar Express.
There is plenty to keep the kiddos entertained during the event. Coloring before the performance, as well as complimentary milk and cookies following the performance will make the event even more fun. During the 45 minute concert, "play along" egg shakers will be available for a small fee, or you can simply sit and enjoy the show.
The ensemble's performance will be joined by the Alma Schrader Elementary School's 4th grade choir of Cape, along with dancers from Dance Extensions Dance Studio of Jackson.
This, their sixth year of the family-themed Holiday Percussion Concert, is free and open to the public. (A small donation is recommended, but not required.) For complete details, click here.
