Heartland weather is a funny thing; we can easily see all four seasons in one week. The weather this year is no exception, and it may have had you wondering if we would ever see spring and summer. Now that we have just welcomed in summer, farmer's markets are in full swing. With the change in seasons come changes in the products offered at the markets as well!
Whether you are fixing a salad or having honey and biscuits, visit your local farmer's market to gather up some flavor of the season. Enjoy freshly grown produce and herbs, or a fresh jar of local honey (great for allergies!). Find hand-crafted jewelry, decor, and soap. Watch live entertainment or demonstrations or special guest speakers that some markets offer. Whatever your pick, know that the locally grown and made items you purchase at farmer's markets are both helping your community and serving you with fresh, healthy goods.
