Trot on down to the 5-H Camel Ranch, a gem just outside of Jackson for the music party of the season, and catch some tunes coming to you live at the John D. Hale Band Barn Party.
Powder Mill, for example, with their self-professed hillbilly slopbucket rock, will take to the Friday night stage with the likes of country music's award-winning Reckless Kelly and the beautiful Dani Flowers. Combining rockin' country with a touch of tradition, these musical masterpieces will set Friday's stage and headline for an even fuller Saturday line-up.
What would the Barn Party be without the John D. Hale Band themselves? Making the opening appearance on Saturday, the party's namesake band will set the stage for what has become one of the area's most beloved music spectaculars. Also to be seen on Saturday are Matt Stell and Deep Roots (who have recently undergone a band makeover), Chris Welch Band, Evan Webb, Cole Porter Band, The Walker Brothers, and the Justin Heskett Band.
Enjoy the sounds from the outdoor stage as they fill the air. Kick back in your lawn chair and enjoy form a distance or head right up stage-side within sweating distance of the performers. Should you need a bite to eat or a beverage to cool down, concessions will be provided by local vendors such as Bel Air Grill and LuLu's BBQ.
For those that just don't want to leave (or due to the number of "refreshments" consumed shouldn't), primitive camping will be offered again this year. Tents, campers and the like will be permitted, but pre-registration for spots is encouraged as they tend to fill fast. No electrical hookups will be provided, so bring a generator for power should you need it. Please don't bring your pets, as some of the barn party staff and guests will be the 5-H Ranch's own camels, sheep, horses and other 4-legged creatures that roam the place which is plenty of animals already.
Alcohol will be available at the grounds, but as this is a family event too, we ask that you enjoy the party responsibly. No coolers will be permitted. Past events have offered designated drivers, so we look forward to that this year as well for the safety of all. That being said, bring out your good attitude and have a good time at this year's Barn Party!
