The Howard Aslinger Foundation will be holding their biggest benefit concert this week, and all who attend will be helping different-abled athletes get the equipment and services they need to compete in sporting events. The weekend promises to be full of music, and fun.
The Howard Aslinger Foundation makes sure that those with disabilities reach their educational and athletic goals through scholarships and handicap equipment. This is made possible in part by the generosity of their supporters, and their big fundraiser the Summer Music Festival. Each ticket bought goes to helping an athlete make their dream come true, and the festival offers tons of fun as well.
This year local bands Gen X, Paragon, Blue Jane, Mike Renick Band, Dave Gerlach and Friends, and Tone Def All-Stars will take the stage to rock the night away for a good cause. Everyone is welcomed to enjoy live music, good food, and fun times.
The Howard Aslinger Foundation is endorsed by Cape Girardeau’s own triathlon champion Zach Young. The foundation helps athletes like Zach obtain things like racing wheelchairs and other adaptive equipment for their athletic careers. They also provide educational scholarships for learning programs from special education to university.
Make this a fun weekend for a good cause with spectacular live music. Tickets can be bought in advance at the Missouri Running Company. The Summer Music Festival takes place August 15 at 1:00 p.m. in Arena Park. Visit their Facebook or website for more information.
