K103 and Real Rock 99.3 are pleased to announce the Monster Mania Monster Truck Show coming this Saturday and Sunday, August 3-4 to Benton Raceway Park.
The event will feature car-crushing, engine-roaring, action-packed fun and entertainment as six monster trucks battle it out in the arena for title of the biggest and best.
The trucks and drivers include two father and son pairs. The first pair, driving the K103 official event truck Iron Horse and the Real Rock 99.3 official truck Scorpion are Rob French and his son Kyle Carrington, respectively. These two trucks will also be on display Friday before the event with Iron Horse at Sikeston Factory Outlet Stores and Scorpion at Dobbs Tire & Auto Center on South Kingshighway in Cape. (For the Amazing Race fans out there, Rob and his wife were participants in season 21 of the show, making him a double celebrity!) The other father/son duo will be behind the wheels of Outta Control, driven by Orvil Hill and Amsoil Shock Therapy driven by his son Steven Hill.
Staking his claim as one of the most experienced drivers in the sport, Bennett Clark will commandeer his truck Clydesdale, as he has done for more than three decades. While his truck has changed over the years, his passion and dedication has remained unwavering.
And last but not least in the lineup is Mike Dufrene in Ground Pounder, who got his career start in 1994 and has become well known in the world of monster trucks since then.
Also featured for the event are the Mini Monster Kids, drivers all aged 7-17, who perform the same stunts as the big guys at half the size. Their scaled down versions promise and as much entertainment and thrill as the full sized trucks. (You can check out the pint sized hype about them here.)
Prior to all of the monster truck mayhem, you are invited to the Pit Pre-Party (free with paid admission to the event) for a meet and greet, photo opportunities and autographs with the drivers. All six monster trucks will be lined up along with the three mini monsters. The opportunity to ride in the Bumblebee Monster Truck will also be available at a small additional cost.
After the meet and greet, the drivers will take to the arena performing stunts and tricks to captivate and excite the audience. The monster truck war will pit driver against driver, truck against truck, and father against son as they battle it out to see who is the best. There will be free-style, wheelies, and much more to witness as the up-to 2,000 horsepower engines roar into action in the ultimate truck battle.
The timeline of events for both nights is the same. Gates will open at 5pm with the Pit Pre-Party from 5:30-6:30. The Monster Mania will begin at 7pm. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for kids age 6-14, and aged 5 and under get in free. You can buy them in advance at the race track, online at semotickets.com, or by calling (573) 335-8291.
