Travel back to the 1970s, the era of big hair and big fashion with the VintageNOW Fashion Show. A fundraiser for Cape Girardeau’s Safe House for Women, the fashion show features antique attire popular in decades past, and this year there is the new addition of the men’s fashion line with VinageNOW’s first ever male model runway.
VintageNOW is more than just a fashion show, it’s a party. The stage features not only fashion models but dance performances, music, food, and more. Pastimes Antiques hosts this amazing soiree to show how you can incorporate timeless fashion into your modern attire. This year’s theme is the 1970s: VintageNOW is bringing back intricate patterns, platform shoes, and big hair to give a classic look to your wardrobe.
This year men will get some fashion representation as well. VintageNOW is introducing male models into the show known as ‘Peace Ambassadors.’ These ambassadors compete for the public’s vote to be the first male model to walk the runway and raise money for the Safe House for Women. At the show donate $1 for your vote on the best male model.
Proceeds from this event support the Cape Safe House for Women which provides assistance to those who face domestic violence.
Our own Wes Wade is a Peace Ambassador competing for male model. To give him your vote in advance click here. The money goes to the Women’s Safe House.
For more information and advance ticket purchase visit the VintageNOW website, or Facebook page. The fashion show takes place October 24 at 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 6:00 p.m.) at the Osage Center in Cape Girardeau.
