The Zonta Club of Cape Girardeau is hosting their annual Women of Achievement Luncheon to honor women for their accomplishments and contributions in the organization, and to women all over the world.
Zonta is a network of women that strive to provide support, equal rights, and status advancement to women all over the world. The Zonta Club of Cape Girardeau is part of this movement, and the luncheon acts as a reward to those that have made advancement in their fields and provide support to other women in the community.
In their 11th annual luncheon the Zonta Club will be honoring Nancy Hunter Stiegemeyer with the 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award for her services to the library and information system in Cape Girardeau, as well as her dedication to education. Stiegemeyer has also served with foundations like the Lutheran Family and Children’s Services board and United Way.
Dr. Erin Fluegge is receiving the 2015 Celebration Award for her services to the Cape Safe House for Women through the Vintage Now Fashion Show. She is an an associate professor in management and marketing at Southeast Missouri State University.
During the luncheon the winner of the 2015 Zonta Women of Achievement Award will be announced out of a group of local nominees.
The Zonta Club invites the public to attend the ceremony in hopes of welcoming those who wish to learn more and help celebrate the women that make the advancement in society possible.
The luncheon takes place November 20 at Ray’s Banquet Center in Cape with an expo of local businesses at 10:30 a.m., and lunch served at 11:30 a.m. with the program. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased here.
