Several shelter pups got the best gift of all this year - a home for Christmas.
Last Saturday the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri held a mobile adoption at West Park Mall - much to the delight of all the shoppers. Six dogs of all shapes and sizes got some love and ‘awws’ as everyone took the time to slow down and get some puppy love. As a result of the mobile adoption all six dogs in attendance were adopted to new homes.
A representative from the shelter said, “We have been blessed to have many gifts under our Christmas tree, but days like today are better than any treats we could ask for.”
Adding to the holiday cheer are the generous donations the shelter has received. With the help of Mac the Pitbull, Mississippi Mutts, and Macy’s Place Dog Bath and Boutique, the Humane Society raised over $11,000 worth of supplies and monetary donations.
Some of these donations are going toward the new facilities the shelter is building, which include more kennel space, and an ICU for the animals. Donations are still needed for this project, so consider contributing to a wonderful cause. As an added incentive the Humane Society will be hosting a ‘Raise the Woof’ dinner and comedy show on February 27.
